Product Description
Sodium metabisulfite (Na2S2O5) is an inorganic compound that is a white or yellow crystal with a strong irritating odor. It is soluble in water and the aqueous solution is acidic. When in contact with strong acids, it releases sulfur dioxide and generates corresponding salts. If left in the air for a long time, it will oxidize to sodium sulfate, so sodium metabisulfite cannot be stored for a long time.
Used for producing insurance powder, sulfamethoxazole, acetaminophen, caprolactam, etc; Used for the purification of chloroform, phenylpropylsulfone, and benzaldehyde. Ingredients used as fixing agents in the photography industry; The spice industry is used to produce vanillin; Used as a preservative in the brewing industry; Rubber coagulants and dechlorinating agents for bleached cotton fabrics; Organic intermediates; Used for printing, dyeing, and leather making; Used as a reducing agent; Used for wastewater treatment in the electroplating industry, oil fields, and as mineral processing agents in mines; Used as a preservative, bleach, and loosening agent in food processing.
